All about Astronomy

Report about astronomy
Did you know that astronomy is the branch of science that deals with celestial objects? ( such as moons, planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies.)  I know a lot of facts and information about astronomy but I will just tell you some of them.

The Solar System
First of all, the Solar System is made up of the Sun, eight planets, five dwarf planets, over one hundred and sixty moons, half a million asteroids and  more than three thousand comets, gas and dust.
Do you know how old is the Solar System? Well I know, the Solar System is is more than 4.6  billion years old. It is very old.

The Sun
The Sun is a ball of very hot, burning gases.Scientists say that our Sun is a green Star.  Did you also know that the light from the Sun takes approximately 8 minutes to reach
Earth. And last of all,the Sun's core can reach 10 to 22.5 million°F.

The Moon
Did you know that from Earth, we always see the same side of the Moon?  This is because the other half is always hidden. The moon always rises in the east and sets in the west.  There is also  no wind or weather on the moon. Isn’t that boring?

Stars
A Star is a massive luminous sphere of plasma held together by gravity. It has hydrogen and helium gas inside. Every Star is 100 to 200 times larger and brighter than our Sun. Did you also know that Stars are black bodies? A black body is an object that absorbs 100 percent of all electromagnetic radiation (that is, light, radio waves and so on) that falls on it.

Comets
Do you know what is a Comet? Well I know. A comet is an icy small Solar System body. Comets are members of our Solar System. Comet's tail is its most distinctive feature. There are two types of comet tails: dust and gas.

Asteroids
Asteroids are minor planets (small Solar System bodies and dwarf planets) that are not comets, especially those of the inner Solar Systems. They have also been called planetoids, especially the larger ones. Asteroids are made of different minerals and substances.

Solar Eclipse
An eclipse is when the moon passes in front of the Sun casting a shadow on the Earth. (this is also known as a occultation) A total Solar Eclipse only happens every 1 and a half years. There are also 2 and 5 Solar eclipses each year. Last of all, the moon moves across the Sun at 2,250 km per hour.

Galaxies
A galaxy is a massive, gravitationally bound system consisting of Stars.

So that’s all I know about astronomy and I hoped you liked it. Maybe I can tell you more about astronomy next time.

Why my comment is quality comment.

We are learning to create positive digital footprints. I know I am leaving a positive digital footprint when I write good quality comments.
Here is a comment I left on a blog.
My comment is a quality comment because I have greeted the author, I have been thoughtful and said what I like the most. I also ended with a question to start a conversation.

My mum is the best

                  My mum is the best

My mum always put joy in all my days
and touches my heart in precious ways.

She is the best mum
in the whole wide world, and she will always
be in my heart until I die.

So now I want to thank you, mum
for being so true
and I will always
love you.
